Cyclonic Filtration System
For industries where water is a vital component to daily operations like petrochemical, metalworking, pulp and paper, stoneworking and water treatment, reuse is key. Lightly used water that has low levels of potential pathogens is a reusable resource with the right treatment. BACA Pure’s greywater cyclonic filtration system removes solids, allowing companies to recycle the water for their internal processes. With over 30 years of industry experience, our team is here to help you with all your fabrication system needs, from best practices to next-level customer service to parts that are up to 50% lower than our competitors.
What is Greywater?
Greywater is water that has been used for showers, baths, washing hands, laundry, rinsing vegetables, etc. Other sources of greywater can come from river water, seawater, and underground water. While you wouldn’t want to drink it, it is perfectly safe for use in many applications.
In industrial applications like stoneworking, water is used when cutting solid blocks. The friction that occurs when the blades saw through the stone creates heat, so water must be continuously applied to the blade to keep it cool. The water that runs off from the wet blade may have bits of dirt, rock or other solids. Some of the other particles that can be removed include nickel, glass, iron, steel, lead oxide and manganese.
Though it may look unappealing, that runoff still has many benefits. Once the solids are removed, it can be used for irrigation or recycled through a filter to be reused for the same or a similar purpose. Cyclonic filtration makes that possible.
What Is Cyclonic Filtration?
The primary functions of a cyclonic filtration system include:
- Removal of large particles
- Safeguarding equipment
The BACA Pure cyclonic filtration system supplies a constant source of recycled water to the production facility. It continuously cleans the water from the pit by sending the liquid through a separator to remove large solids and suspended particles. The fluid is then further purified by flowing through a cyclone that uses centrifugal force and gravity sedimentation to filter the water up to 40 microns. As the water spins, the larger particles are forced into a separation chamber, while the suspended particles are captured in the collection chamber.
After the cyclone removes the solids, the treated water flows into a storage tank. It is then pumped throughout the shop for continued use. The separated solids that were captured can now be disposed of. This process ensures reuse of the greywater without damage to expensive equipment from the wear and tear from abrasion.
What Are the Benefits and Features of a Baca Pure Cyclonic Filtration System?
There are many business and environmental benefits of recycling water. Over the last 100 years, water use has increased globally by 600%. And, as the world’s population rises, water demand is increasing. Your company is in a position to not only reap financial benefits from conservation but to be an example of sustainable business practices.
By the year 2050, it is projected that water use will increase by another 20% to 30% per year. The demand for agriculture alone is expected to increase by 60%. It is critical to protect our natural resources through conservation and clean recycling processes, such as cyclonic filtration.
Benefits of using Baca System’s cyclonic filtration system include but aren’t limited to:
